GENRE: MELODIC HARD ROCK/MELODIC METAL
Conscientia is a metal and hard rock band hailing from Belgium, now residing in the United States. The band started out as a melodic death metal band. However, after about two years of performing gigs here and there throughout Flanders, their vocalist left the group since it wasn’t getting off the ground. With a band member less and a metal scene that was close to non-existent in Belgium, the band decided to move to a location that would be more prosperous for a small time metal band. Instead of choosing Scandinavia like any other European band with common sense would have done, the guys packed their stuff and moved to the States.
A brief description of the individual band members:
Ivan is the bassist and the band’s youngest member. He is one of the band’s founders and the main creative mind of the band. He’s always cheerful, always throwing ideas about during jam sessions and always hungry. At concerts, he tends to be the crowd favourite due to his seemingly infinite supply of energy. Unfortunately, Ivan does not have the best of memories and forgets a lot of important jam sessions and even gigs because of it. His inability to manage finances has also caused the band some trouble in the past.
Roger is the drummer. He is the other founder and by far the most responsible person in the band. He’s always organising gigs, handling the more technical stuff with the record labels, cooking up meals for the rest of the crew... He’s more or less a father figure to the other guys. He is rather easy going in the process of composing, as long as he gets to make to double bass pedals blast at least once during the song; doesn’t matter whether or not it’s hard rock or metal the band is composing. He’s not a perfect fellow, though. Roger tends to lose control of himself while drinking anything with alcohol, which has resulted in him ending up in the emergency room a couple of times already. However, he has vowed to do something about his drinking problem.
David is the band’s lead guitarist and the eldest member of the group. David joined the band some time after he returned from his service in Afghanistan. By making music he is able to cope better with the horrible memories and experiences he has from his time there. Along with Sven, David is always trying to refine Ivan’s raw ideas while creating a song. He also tries his best to help Roger manage the band, even if his organisational skills aren’t the best. The fact he speaks five languages fluently makes it easier for Roger to make arrangements with countries abroad.
Sven is the band’s rhythm guitarist. He helps refine Ivan’s raw ideas during the writing process along with David. He works the hardest of any member on the actual composing part of the songs. He will sometimes work all night on finding that ideal riff, that sweet spot in the chord progressions etc. Unfortunately, he is not as patient with his daily life as he is with his music. Sven has an incredibly short fuse and can have his entire day ruined by small things like the microwave oven not functioning properly. He’s also rather aggressive, which has led to him fighting at concerts before.

GENRE: MELODIC HARD ROCK
Conscientia returns with their fourth album 'Bitter Sweet Reality', a collection of melodic and melancholic tracks that walks the thin line between being Hard Rock and Metal. Having matured even more in song writing, the band now occasionally steps into the realms of the progressive structures in their songs. This is another album that is sure to please both older fans, as well as newcomers.

GENRE: MELODIC METAL
Conscientia return to their metal roots once again in this fifth album. Since they were popular among fans, the progressive structures make a return in many of the songs included on this LP. New to the table, are the numerous Hardcore influences that can be heard in the tracks "Shattered and Torn", "More is not Enough" and "We Cannot Be Saved". If you didn't have anything to blast to your speakers at insane volumes before, you certainly do now.

GENRE: MELODIC METAL
The final album of Conscientia is here! Like with 'Dances with Death', the band has taken the progressive route, though even more so than before. This album is the culmination of all the song writing experience the band has amassed throughout their career, with an explosion of technicality as a result: complex odd time signatures, prominent minor scales and story tie-ins all reign supreme on this collection of Conscientia's finest works to date. Join the band on their last journey into the darker side of the musical realm.
